A collaboration between SUDESTADA and Parsons School of Design MFA Fashion Studies.
Marking the first off-campus exhibition organized by the Parsons Fashion Design department in over ten years, we are excited to present "Punk Politics / Camp Costuming", an exhibition entirely conceptualized, curated, designed, and produced by students from the Parsons MFA Fashion Curation class led by Jessica Glasscock.

Rooted in the visual and political histories of 1970s London and New York, the exhibition explored how punk and camp operate as distinct yet interconnected strategies of resistance through dress, performance, craft, and image-making. While punk confronts systems directly through DIY construction, distressed materials, and confrontational text, camp destabilizes norms through exaggeration, theatricality, stylization, and coded expressions of identity. Together, both frameworks position clothing as a site of protest, transformation, and cultural negotiation.
Across garments, textiles, photography, accessories, installation, and graphic materials, the exhibition examined the body as a space where politics, identity, and self-fashioning converge. Thematic vignettes brought together works investigating text as protest, silhouette as performance, and the tension between restriction and freedom embedded within dress.
Throughout the exhibition, public programming expands the themes of Punk Politics / Camp Costuming into an afternoon of lived and participatory experiences on Saturday, May 9th, including:
