We are honored to introduce Marta Minujin first ever capsule collection around the iconic garment that has borne witness to her creative and personal journey: THE OVERALL.
Handmade entirely in 100% silk in Latin America, the capsule reimagines three of her statement psychedelic collages of thin strips of painted fabric into vibrant and elegant overalls and matching scarves and foulards to wear together as a set or separately.
ART! ART! ART!
“I have lived with art since I was ten years old. If I don't work or I don't create or I don't do something, I don't exist. I am an artist in the air, with overalls on, I fly.”
—Marta Minujin
MARTA MINUJIN IN OVERALLS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS
Let’s go back to the beginning…
Almost synonymous with her name, overalls became a deeply personal ally and medium for Marta at a young age. Her grandfather, Mr. Salvador Minujín, led Casa Minujín, a prestigious factory of suits and work uniforms that collaborated with renowned Argentine national institutions such as the Teatro Colón.
Located in a mansion from 1890 in San Cristóbal where she herself was born, today has her studio and gallery and this capsule was brought to life, on October 24, 1966, Marta asked her grandfather's tailor to make her an overall with a gold satin fabric. This was the first garment she designed for herself trying to intertwin and generate a dialogue between her wardrobe and her artistic vision which at the time, had gone Pop after buying her first miniskirt in Milan while she was attending the Venice Biennale of 1964.
“That year my life changed completely. Through colors, I discovered joy, humor, fun, and that impacted completely in the way I started living and dressing as well. As I always say, people should live in art. When I became pop, I created a multicolored world in which I am happy and I want everyone to experience that.”

“We are not here to justify or bow down to anything, but we are here to choose, go crazy, take unlimited risks until we find our own image.”
—Marta Minujin
While continuing exploring the clothed body as a canvas for identity construction and self-expression, Marta’s eponymous capsule collection brings her war of cry closer to the everyday life of the core focus of her work: people.
