Mola Sasa Earth Day Capsule collection was one of our first approaches in Product/Collection Conceptualizing and Line Planning. As soon as we started working with them, we knew that in order to launch their first eCommerce site we would need to streamline the functionalities of the current products - clutches and bracelets -, diversify the product categories and price points as well as strengthen their brand presence during global celebratory days that were aligned with their mission and vision.
In celebration of Earth Day, we conceptualized and developed an eco-friendly capsule collection to promote the management, sustainable use and long-term preservation of Colombian native natural resources. The three-piece capsule features its coveted Chimichagua Tote and two brand new product categories: a pair of bold statement earrings and a delicate wrap belt. Offered in four color combinations, all the styles are handcrafted with natural fibers by Colombian artisans and by implementing techniques from 3 different regions. The body of the Chimichagua totes are handwoven by women of the Cesar region of Colombia, in the community of Chimichagua, with the native estera palm leaves. The handles of the totes and the body of the belts and earrings are handwoven in the Zenu Reserve in Tuchin Cordoba with caña flecha. The hoops of earrings and the buckles of the belts are handwoven by women of the Kankuama people of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and are made from fiber extracted from a type of native agave plant called maguey.
The collection was featured in Man Repeller, Marie Claire, Departures, Vogue México, Fashion Canada, iT Spain, Petrie Inventory and Wardrobe Icons. It was worn by Whitney Port, Jasmine Hemsley, Kelly Talamas, Calu Rivero, Sophia Li, Amelia Diamond, among many others.
